 Magoodhoo , known as the island
of nature , located in the tropical Maldives is unique in terms  of its biodiversity, resource
endowments, climate conscientious and socio-economic sketch.  The Island ecosystem is very unique in terms of its high endemism in physical environment  and threat by various natural andanthropogenic factors – renowned for its blue lagoon, reefs  rich in marine life and white sandy beaches.  

People of Magoodhoo has a keeninterest in protecting the increasing threat from sea level rise  besides increase in sea surface temperature, and protecting its beautiful reefs, which can alter  ecosystems and habitability of island regions.  

However, the vulnerability of islands varies with their physical attributes and their adaptive  capacity. Therefore, it is imperative to force for regional and international cooperation to  conserve the biodiversity of Magoodhoo and implement suitable and adequate adaptation  measures where Magoodhoo initiated its first step in opening for the living marine lab for the  university students of Milan-Bicocca University – Italy. The university carry out experiments,  offers courses, conduct studies to manage and protect the reefs of Maldives and other reefs  globally. Island Visitors are given the opportunity to take snorkelling tour to the island coral  farm and witness the efforts of locals and university to protect the environment.  

The People of Magoodhoo are set with an attitude to protect their island nature and works  hands on with environmentalists to protect the reefs and white sandy beaches. Magoodhoo is  known for its blue lagoon of the island, reefs rich in marine life and white sandy beaches of the  island. Visitors can participate to survey the reefs, take a snorkelling trip to the house of reefs  to enjoy the beauty of the coral gardens.
